Research & Evaluation
Why research & evaluation are important in public health.
We utilize research for evidence-based practice that can improve the health inequities we see in New Haven today. Our research provides opportunities for our partners and the community members to participate in studies that inform policy and practice in the place they live or work.
Why sharing information back to the community is important.
Another large focus of our work is sharing information from our research with the community. In doing this, our research is made more relevant to the community, and policies and practice improve. In our research endeavors, we strive to address the needs identified by the community, in order to serve those most impacted by health inequities.
How research & evaluation help break down barriers to achieve health equity.
Research provides information to drive policy change and generate systemic change. We use research and data as a tool to address health inequities and develop interventions with community partners. In the process of evaluating these interventions, we are able to see what works and what doesn’t work for New Haven communities.
