Vaccine Equity Fellowship

In this 4-month training program, Vaccine Equity Fellows will learn about COVID-19 and flu prevention and vaccination efforts in New Haven and will receive training on how to have effective conversations about vaccines to increase vaccine confidence. Fellows will activate their own networks to conduct 3-5 hours each week of vaccine outreach as trusted messengers. New Haven residents from the following neighborhoods will be prioritized: Dixwell, Dwight, Fair Haven, The Hill, Newhallville, West Hills, West River, West Rock, Whalley-Edgewood-Beaver Hills (WEB).

Program Information

  • Statement of Purpose

    You will be asked to respond to the following questions in your statement of purpose. Your Statement of Purpose should be 2 pages or less in length.

    1. Why do you aspire to participate in the Vaccine Equity Fellowship Program?

    2. Please discuss how your past experiences and current knowledge make you uniquely qualified to serve as a Vaccine Equity Fellow.

    3. What does vaccine equity mean to you? How can we achieve vaccine equity in New Haven?

    4. If selected, you will complete a vaccine-related outreach project in your community. Describe at least one vaccine outreach idea.

    Two References

    Please provide two references that can comment on your potential as a Vaccine Equity Fellow. Your refernces should be able to speak about your previous community engagement and/or your passion towards gaining leadership in this area.

  • Participants will receive a stipend of a total of $1200 over the course of the program.
